Helen Fitzgerald, School Liaison Officer and Sue McNamara, Learning Mentor, are delighted to announce the launch of their peer mentoring scheme at Stroud College.
The programme aims to help and empower those students who aren’t always confident or comfortable talking to a member of staff.
Staff have fully trained 8 students from across the college into peer mentors. The training included group discussions and activities about confidentiality, communication, values, differences and attitudes. The peer mentors now hope to provide help and guidance on any personal issues students wish to discuss.
The peer mentors will be available for drop ins every Tuesday and Wednesday from the 5th March in room 150 from 12-1. If you would like any more information please see Helen Fitzgerald at the back of the refectory or email helenfitzgerald@stroudcol.ac.uk.
