Students work in small groups with a qualified tutor and support staff according to individual needs. Prior to joining any course, students are assessed and individual needs identified so that the correct course/group is allocated. Placing students on the right course is a high priority to ensure success at any level.
Students’ needs are met on a one to one basis with support staff if such a need is identified. All courses are designed to meet the requirement of current legislation regarding disability discrimination. Specialist computer programmes and hardware are available if required.
Stroud College offer courses at a variety of levels and students may progress to Entry level Courses
Work is assessed by continuous assessment and observation. This is classroom, workshop and community based. Students may also work to external accreditation which will entail building a portfolio and may be ‘end test’ accredited. Students also meet on a regular basis with their personal tutor to discuss progress against goals set.
There will be a cost for materials (£90 payable on enrolment) and residential costs of up to £300 (if arranged as part of the curriculum)
